FS woman’s body found: by Marvin Ntsane

The police in the Free State are asking for assistance in finding a suspect after a woman’s body was found dumped in a field in Kalkuil at Odendaalsrus on Sunday.

Provincial police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, says the body of the 41-year-old Nolisizwe Mdladlamde had a gunshot wound to the head and her two cellphones were also found on the scene. He explains that according to preliminary investigations, Mdladlamde allegedly went drinking with her boyfriend and his friend on Saturday night.

He says a case of murder has been opened.

The investigation further revealed that the body seems to have been dragged for a distance of about 50 meters from the nearest road. A 9mm cartridge and blood traces were found at the place where the deceased was allegedly shot. It is not yet clear what exactly happened to her.

However, residents near the crime scene claim they heard a single gunshot at around 22:00 on Saturday night. The motive for this murder is unknown at this stage. Further investigations continue.
